Fruit and drain flies are tiny insects that are often found in kitchens and bathrooms. But they can also breed in the soil of house plants. If you're facing this problem, here's a three-step plan that will help you get rid of them.

Step 1: Eliminate Breeding Sites

These flies usually breed in damp places like sink drains, bathtub drains, garbage disposals, or fruit bowls. The first thing you need to do is to get rid of their breeding grounds. Take out the trash, clean your kitchen countertops, and take your house plants outside for a few hours. Remember, cleanliness is next to godliness. So, the first advice any pest control expert would give you is to clean and sanitize everything.

Step 2: Treat Problem Areas

Next, you need to use a product to eliminate all the organic material from inside your drains. This is where the flies lay their eggs. I recommend a product called Hot Spot Plus Bio Foam. It's safe and effective. Just foam it inside all your problem area drains at night or when you leave for the day. You may have to repeat this process two or three times. That will kill the eggs. To eliminate fruit flies flying around, use fruit fly traps in your problem area. My favorite traps are the apple-shaped traps. I will include a link to Amazon for your convenience.

Step 3: Prevent Re-Occurrence

Finally, to prevent the problem from coming back, make sure to keep your problem areas clean and use Hot Spot Bio Foam once a month inside your drains.
